Shofu’s HY-Bond Glass Ionomer CX-Smart is a modern self-adhesive luting cement featuring the proprietary HY-agent, a tannic acid–strontium fluoride–zinc fluoride complex that boosts mineralization, acid resistance, and antibacterial properties. It chemically bonds to tooth structure without needing etching or bonding, providing a strong marginal seal and excellent moisture tolerance. The CX-Smart formula is resin-free, making it suitable for patients with resin allergies, and it ensures minimal post-operative sensitivity due to the HY-agent. This cement shows ideal thixotropic behavior (flows under pressure but stays put when relaxed), has a uniform film thickness, and offers durable physical properties including high acid resistance and low solubility.
